The Indigenous Health Interest Group (IHIG) draws members from The Australian National University academic and student populations.
The group conducts monthly meetings and has organised a number of successful events and courses since its inception in mid 2008.
Through the group's close association with the National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health, IHIG has developed a strong working relationship with Winnunga Nimmityjah Aboriginal Health Service. In turn, a number of Winnunga Nimmityjah staff have been highly involved in IHIG events, such as 'Engaging Our Mob', and it is exactly this type of collaboration that IHIG is continually working hard to develop.
IHIG also forms part of the ANU Reconciliation Action Plan Committee, which fosters University wide cooperation and collaboration to tackle a number of issues facing Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander peoples within the university community.
